For Bobby Hooks, legacy is everything.
Whether it’s his family or his business, participating in an enduring legacy is what motivates Bobby Hooks towards excellence. With Graham Roofing Incorporated (GRI), there’s little distinction between family and business. Having played a critical part within the company for nearly half a century, the emotional sentiment he has towards his customers and staff is enormous.
Bobby first met Jimmy Graham, the organization’s founder and first president, in 1968 while they were both attending Mississippi State University. The two formed a quick and profound connection, which lasts to this day. Bobby began to hone his craft as a laborer, roofer, foreman and lead estimator, learning all aspects of the roofing industry. His career continued to evolve, becoming manager and president of GRI.
Working alongside Jimmy and third partner Clyde Hollis, multiple businesses grew out of GRI, including Grayco, GoBox, Atlas Properties, and Rent-a-Space. In 1997, Bobby spearheaded the opening of the 2nd location for GRI in Tupelo, MS, expanding the Graham brand to an entirely new area. Growth only continued to be a theme under Bobby’s leadership; in 2007, he signed a deal to expand GRI’s corporate facility from 20,000 to 65,000 s.f.
After enjoying a great partnership and friendship with Jimmy and Clyde, which is still enjoyed today, Bobby became the sole owner of Graham Roofing in 2005. This move allowed him to begin a brand-new era built on a principled vision of creating a Culture of Excellence at GRI. “Graham Roofing” has become synonymous to its customers with quality and service, and with his leadership team is centered on strengthening and expanding that reputation.
Bobby graduated from Mississippi State University in 1972 with a BS degree in Business and Industry. He currently resides in Starkville, MS with his wife Beverly. The two prioritize spending time with their three happily -married daughters and nine grandchildren.
